First-year students meet some 2nd year student to help them make connections and get familiar with the campus resource. We also announced last semester’s best mentor awards, and invited to Ji Eun to share her experience as a mentee to promote our program.

We co-organized this coffee chat with Sharon Fleshman from Career Service Office to hold a Networking Workshop. We served Pizza. 4:30-6:00 p.m.

12/7/2018 3rd coffee chat @EDUC400

We offered an open space with coffee and doughnuts for participants to refresh and recharge and let them chat about their mentoring experience this semester and the expectations for next semester. We served the snack basket from 3-4pm.

We invited Rebecca, a PhD student to lead the meditation and followed by a human-bingo activity to foster interaction among participants. 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Dr. Lerner first talked about tips for getting prepared to transition out of school and building mentorships, introduce mantras from her book, and then did the Q&A with participants. 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Everyone shared about what lead to a successful mentorship and what lead to the failure, the limitation of mentorship, different people’s style in mentorship, and the boundary issue. 11:30-12:30 p.m.

4/21/2018 Annual Penn GSE student/alumni networking event @Arch Building 108 

GSE Alumni and students sit together and discuss topics interested to them, including job search, time-management, interview preparation and PhD application preparation. The discussion is followed by free networking and delicious food. 4:00-6:00 p.m.
